Parent Support Unit
Support Behind the Scenes.
The Parent Support Unit, or PSU, gives ARP parents a way to support the patrol, connect with other families, and help strengthen the experience for current members.
ARP asks a lot from its youth members. They train, respond, lead, and serve while balancing school, family, and everything else that comes with high school. The PSU helps support that commitment through fundraising, events, social gatherings, member support, and community connections.
For ARP Families
Support the Members who Support the Community.
Whether you have a specific skill to offer or simply want to stay involved, there is a place for you.
What the PSU Does
The Parent Support Unit helps support ARP outside of field response. It gives parents and guardians a practical way to contribute to the organization while building a stronger parent community within the Patrol.
Parent involvement may include helping with fundraising, donor outreach, social events, food and logistics, recruitment support, community events, and connections with businesses or local organizations.
Why Parent Support Matters
Build Community
Connect with other families who understand the ARP experience.
Support Members
Help make trainings, events, and team activities stronger.
Open Doors
Share professional skills, personal and employer connections, and local relationships.
ARP is youth-led, but it is strengthened by the adults who believe in the program. Parent support helps create the resources, relationships, and community backing that allow members to train seriously, serve safely, grow as leaders, and focus on the mission.
Ways Parents Can Help
You do not need emergency services experience to be helpful. ARP benefits from many different talents, connections, and kinds of support.
Fundraising
Help plan fundraisers, connect ARP with potential donors, or support sponsorship outreach.
Events
Support social gatherings, family events, recognition nights, recruitment events, and community-facing activities.
Member Support
Assist with food, setup, logistics, hospitality, and behind-the-scenes needs during events.
Community Connections
Introduce ARP to employers, businesses, civic groups, nonprofits, or community partners who may want to learn more.
